New Web Part
Microsoft has announced that a new SharePoint Saved For Later web part will be available on Modern SharePoint pages within a Microsoft 365 tenancy. Roll out is expected from mid May 2020 with all tenants having the feature available by end of July 2020.
What will it do for you?
The new web part will allow page authors to embed a view of a user’s “Saved For Later” items within a modern page.
The web part will be available from the web part toolbox with the title Saved for later. The web part is easy to configure with only a few options:
Available options
- Source – chose from All saved items, which will show all of the user’s items across SharePoint, or Saved items from this site, which will show all of the user’s saved items from the current site.
- Type – You can chose what type of saved items to show, items, pages or documents.
- Show this many items at a time – You can limit the number of items displayed in the web part up to a maximum of 50 items.
- Hide this web part if there is nothing to show – If current user has no saved items of the selected type, the web part can be set to automatically hide itself.
- Layout – The web part can be configured to display items in either a grid or a list format.
